Time to Question How Aid is Used to Fight Corruption
CJL Program Co-Director, Diana Chigas presented at the Fletcher Ideas Exchange, sharing the main points of their publication: “Taking the Blinders Off: Questioning how Development Assistance is Used to Combat Corruption.” Noting a lack of effectiveness among traditional approaches to anti-corruption, Diana reframes our thinking about the problem of corruption. We must also consider how context matters, explore the role of social norms, and ultimately understand corruption as a complex, systemic problem. With this, we can develop more appropriate solutions.
