CJL Co-Director Cheyanne Scharbatke-Church joins panel at ISDA Ottawa to discuss gender norms and corruption in health and public services.
On October 23, CJL Co-Director Cheyanne Scharbatke-Church participated in the Inclusive Service Delivery Africa (ISDA) Conference in Ottawa, hosted by Transparency International Canada. Speaking on the panel Gender Mainstreaming and Social Inclusion, Cheyanne highlighted how gender norms, power dynamics, and social inequalities shape patterns of corruption and influence who is most affected in health and public service delivery.
Cheyanne drew on Besa Global's work in Madagascar and Nigeria to share insights on integrating gender awareness into anti-corruption strategies and designing more equitable service delivery. The event brought together African and Canadian stakeholders to exchange ideas and solutions, and Besa Global thanks Transparency International Canada for hosting.
