Jan Sawatzky

Jan Sawatzky is a Communications and Administrative Officer with Besa Global. She has over 10 years of experience in research, advocacy, and capacity-building focused on human rights in Myanmar and Southeast Asia. Jan has previously served as a Research Fellow at Karen Human Rights Group, a Senior Researcher at the Human Rights Foundation of Monland, and as the Programme Manager at the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network in Thailand. She holds an M.Sc. in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from the University of Oxford and a B.A. in International Development and Political Science from the University of Toronto.
